INTEGRATIVE HEALTH SERIES - Intestinal Disorders
Current research demonstrating the positive impact of nutrition, stress management, and dietary supplements on intestinal health is leading health care providers and consumers alike to a more comprehensive approach to the treatment of chronic bowel disorders. Our digestive system is the starting point for the health of the entire body, the seat of absorption of nutrients and our protective internal barrier. The healthy function of this system affects the health of our entire being. This 6 week course introduces participants to an integrated model of health care, emphasizing nutrition, stress reduction and yoga practice, including the use of lifestyle modification and herbal medicine. Each class consists of lecture, discussion and yoga practice designed to optimize digestive health. Created to educate and empower participants, drawing on the wisdom of Naturopathic Medicine, Ayurvedic Medicine and Yoga, small class sizes ensure an individualized approach for participants.
This class is appropriate for people experiencing Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Crohns Disease, Ulcerative Colitis, Intestinal Cancer Prevention and post treatment.

Cost: $150 +HST , for 6 week course, includes course workbook. $35 for a single class

Essential Yoga for Women – Part One
As women in western cultures, we have been sold the belief that we can do it all, raise a family and run a household, work, and be a partner, friend, sister, and daughter. Working to maintain our responsibilities and the health of our families, we easily neglect and often struggle with our own well being. Through lecture and discussion, we will explore the ancient sciences of Ayurvedic Medicine and Yoga as it relates to Women, with a focus on three principles that are paramount to our health. Shakti, the primordial feminine energy, Sadhana, practices that connect with and infuse the energy of the divine into our everyday lives, and the Moon, whose rhythms inform and inspire our own daily and monthly rhythms. The class will emphasize simple lifestyle modification, nutrition and herbs that nurture women in all stages of her lifecycle. Through these practices we can transform our collective and individual experience of being a woman, sustaining a deeper understanding of ourselves, and of our relationships, reconnecting us with nature’s pulse, bringing health and balance into our lives

Essential Yoga For Women – Part 2
In this two hour class which draws on the ancient wisdom of Ayurvedic Medicine and Yoga, you will be introduced to essential practices for women’s health. We will explore these sister sciences with an emphasis on asana (postures), mudras (hand seals), and pranayama (breathing practices) that nurture women in all stages of her lifecycle. Incorporating concepts important to women’s health such as the Moon, Shakti, & Sadhana, students will be introduced to the individual modification of yoga practices during menses, pregnancy, menopause and individual differences in constitution. These practices empower women, creating a more holistic perspective, and provide tools to support and nurture ourselves, our family and community.

Wise women – Menopause & Beyond
Course Description:
As we enter into the later years of our lives, we bring with us the knowledge and wisdom we have gained through our walk along the earth. In ancient times, as elders in our communities we were honored for our insight and cared for as we cared for others. Imbalance in this aspect of our life cycle is tied intimately to our belief systems, improper lifestyle, and a disconnection from the rhythms of nature. This one day workshop emphasizes simple and effective tools for decreasing discomfort during our elder years. Drawing from the wisdom of Naturopathic and Ayurvedic Medicine, participants will be given useful and practical remedies, including yoga practices and a nutritious lunch, to create harmony in our elder years.
This class is appropriate for women in perimenopause, menopause and any woman looking to prevent disharmony in her elder years.

The Spark of Life – Exploring our Fertility
Course Description:
As part of our sacred contract, women are entrusted with the quickening of conception. Our relationship to carrying the divine spark of life, is paramount to the health of our families our communities, and the earth herself. Whether you are looking to prevent conception or enhance your ability to do so, this course seeks to reconnect women to themselves and to their divine and innate creativity. Exploring perspectives and tools drawn from Naturopathic and Ayurvedic Medicine, participants will be introduced to principles and practices, including yoga practice and a nutritious lunch, supporting health and balance in our fertile years.
